Feed Blocker — Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Overview
Feed Blocker is a Chrome extension that helps you stay focused on YouTube by hiding distracting content (homepage feed, sidebar recommendations, end-of-video suggestions) and optionally replacing the feed with a to-do list.
Data Collection
Feed Blocker does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
- All data stays on your device
- No analytics or tracking
- No network requests to external servers (except for loading YouTube, which is handled by your browser)
Data Storage
The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage APIs:
- Chrome Sync Storage: Your settings (mode, schedule, todos) are stored locally and synced across your Chrome profile if you have sync enabled. This data is stored by Google Chrome and is subject to Chrome's privacy policy.
- Chrome Local Storage: Snooze state is stored locally on your device.
We do not have access to any of this data. It is stored and managed entirely by Chrome.
Permissions
- storage: Used to save your preferences (blocking mode, schedule, to-do list) so they persist across sessions.
- alarms: Used to end snooze timers in the background when you're not watching.
- youtube.com: Required for the extension to run on YouTube and hide the feed elements.
